Album Details: In jazz pianist Beegie Adair's collection of Jerome Kern compositions, she underscores those musical valus that made Kern great. She consistently emphasizes his penchant for soaring, lyrical melody, melody which has as much in common with such great composers of the old school-Brahms in particular - as it does with other 20th Century songwriters. Yet Adair's interpretations also re-establish that Kern, although he might have protested otherwise, was also a man of the jazz age.
