Album Liner Notes: Songs of love, songs of sadness, songs of heartbreak, songs of joy - but always songs of passion. Being of Italian descent, I cannot imagine a communication that is not uttered with passion and conviction; from "What's for dinner?" to "I love you forever!". If it's worth saying, say it with intensity! And that is exactly what these songs do.
The songs on this album are a combination of operatic arias and Italian-American popular song. Keep in mind, of course, that to an Italian, operatic arias are pop tunes. Indeed, to the rest of us, many of their pop tunes sound like opera! The traditional songs sung by Pavarotti, and the recent "new" songs of Andrea Bocelli are perfect examples of this musical hybrid.
However you perceive them, they are beautiful, fulfilling melodies overflowing with all the emotion you could want from a heartfelt communication. I hope they speak to you as they certainly do to me. And, I hope their beautiful melodies and candid sincerity will take you to a place rich with warmth and emotion. Thanks for listening, and enjoy the ride!
